As the Bumthang Valley in Bhutan is about as rural as it gets, then the farmhouse home of Aum Sherab and her family is a great way of experiencing real life as you're pretty much surrounded by paddy fields with the locals toiling away outside your front door. Just watch out for the wild pig Aum Sherab thankfully keeps enclosed. The farmhouse is of course very traditional and authentic in all ways and as much as possible the family try to eat the delicious home cooked meals with their guests in typical Bhutanese fashion where everyone sits in a circle and shares. A traditional hot stone bath can be prepared upon request and when possible the family prepare a bonfire outside and invite their local friends to come and join guests here and show off their traditional dance and singing skills.
