I waited 50 years to visit Upper Mustang Nepal and now thanks to Snow Cat Travel the dream has been realised. The journey was above expectation I will never find another one to equal the experience. As we travelled it was like peeling an onion each layer had a new adventure. The highlight was Lo Gekar gompa when I saw it tears came to my eyes. Mark took great care in planning the journey taking into account altitude, ages and any health issues. It paid off I never even got a headache even at 14000 feet at Lo Manthang. Dear Mark, Can I just say how utterly amazing our Trek was.
The KGH Hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara were both fantastic, and with the exception of Deurali, all the tea houses were spot on.
The guides Siva and Hari were brilliant, as were the three porters Madan, Prakash and Yubaraj…they were so friendly and helpful in every way....Abhi and Dil were also incredibly helpful and attentive.

What a lovely time we had and what a great way to spend Christmas and New Year. Everything went like clockwork and your team of guide and porters were superb. The scenery was spectacular and day by day there was something new to admire. It was exactly the right level for the trip we were looking for and even though it was tough at times it did give a great level of satisfaction when we arrived at the tea houses ready for dinner and another early night!!
We also thoroughly enjoyed Bhaktapur and Begnas Lake.Bhaktapur was such a culture shock for us but we have a video of the cattle being driven through the street outside the guesthouse and the market on Christmas morning which was such a contrast to home!! The guide we had was very informative and friendly as was every single person we met.
We didn't want to leave the trek and were quite sad that it was over but we had a few low level walks around the lake that were lovely.

It was great! The organisation was excellent...we thoroughly enjoyed all the tours. Abhi was, of course, very helpful all through the trip and everything went really well. Highlights were the mountains, beautiful Thasang village, the Kali Gandhaki, tiger hunting and birdwatching in Bardia. We also really enjoyed Bhaktapur and were lucky enough to be there for the very quaint New Year celebrations.
As you probably know, we had 4 tiger sightings which were really exciting.... Thanks for all your excellent suggestions and for organising a great trip.

Dorothy has asked me to send you a synopsis of our trekking holiday in Nepal.
In two words, First Class, but allow me to expand on that.
Pick up at the Airport and delivery to the KGH by Driver, spot on.
Prep talk by our Abbi, very thorough...
Our guides Ishwar and Pan and the porters Man, Santos, Jeet and Bali.... all proved competent and attentive, in particular both Pan and Man were exceptional.
Pan led the group with Ishwar bringing up the rear.
Pan soon had our relative abilities sorted out....
Accommodation was very good and Pokhara and Nagarkot were exceptional.
Early calls for dawn viewings were prompt and gentle, images at Ghandruk in particular were stunning.
....the stroll down towards Bhaktapur and in the city with Hari was relaxed, very informative and thoroughly enjoyable.
The trip to meet Steve, see the Monastery and take tea at Shivapuri Heights Cottage just rounded off a fantastic holiday.
My thanks to you and Snow Cat for the attention to detail.
This is probably our last trip to Nepal but our younger companions will probably use you again and we will certainly recommend you to all who ask.

....thank you for arranging such a successful, interesting and enjoyable itinerary for our trip to Nepal.
The organisation was very efficient.....the cars used were comfortable, the City guides were good and we cannot praise Shiva Basnet highly enough for his enthusiasm, helpfulness, care and appreciation of our English humour as his English was so good. He went into the kitchens in all the accommodation to ensure that they understood Ruth’s gluten free diet. He took us on some wonderful day hikes including the hillside above Begnas lake and Sekong lake but also extra walks not included in the itinerary such as taking us beyond the tourist street of Bandipur into the old unspoilt village and a fascinating insight into traditional village life. Being with Shiva for two weeks with the information on Nepal that he gave us every day greatly added to our appreciation of Nepal as a country. We repeat that we had a wonderful trip with excellent organisation.

We had very specific requirements for our trip to Nepal. We wanted to see wildlife including lots of birds, to see something of how people live in the rural parts of the country and of course to see the Himalayas. The trip that Mark put together ensured that all this was achieved, including about 240 bird species. This was due both to the itinerary and the superb guides that Mark found for us. This made it very special as it was probably not typical of the usual holiday to Nepal. Nothing was too much trouble in making the arrangements and the team in Nepal were also excellent. If you want a tailor-made trip to Nepal with some ideas of you want then Snowcat is the organisation that will ensure that you will have a wonderful holiday. Even if you want to see Nepal with no specific ideas then Mark has an excellent knowledge of the country and where you can go. I cannot recommend Snowcat too highly.
