BEST PLACE TO STAY IN BANDIPUR-LONELY PLANET
Part of our own Rural Heritage Hotels, this former Newari town house enjoys an eagle's nest location with views across to Annapurna 2, Annapurna 4, and Manaslu from the cafe terrace, plus frontage on the pleasingly pedestrianised main street of Bandipur. The rooms are simple but very cosy and comfortable. Tastefully furnished with typical Newari artefacts and in traditional Newari architectural style. As well as a bar, there's an atmospheric restaurant, but surely if it's a warm evening, you'll prefer to dine al fresco and gaze at the Himalaya as the sun goes down. Bandipur bazaar is literally on your doorstep, with its ancient, small temple and a number of shops. The KE GARNE coffee shop (owned by us too) is right opposite. Rooms are all en suite. Being an old Newari house, the ceilings in rooms are low. Mind your head!
