The original Pokhara luxury resort, Fishtail Lodge, is part of Himalayan history. That and arguably the best mountain views are the prime attractions for staying at Fishtail Lodge. Contrary to what some Nepal 'specialists' may say, Fishtail Lodge is not on an island. However, it is on the 'other' side of the lake from Pokhara and is on an isthmus. All the same, you get here by boat, which is rather novel. If you want to gaze across the lake and enjoy sensational mountain views by the pool and lake, then Fishtail Lodge is still the place to be in Pokhara.
