Combine two of Nepal's famous wildlife parks with a lesser-known one.
The jungles of Chitwan form the most famous National Park in Nepal, as well as being a UNESCO World Heritage Site The big attraction is the Bengal Tiger. Chitwan boasts a population of approximately 120 tigers.
The Bardia National Park is the largest National Park in the entire Terai region of Nepal and is indeed also home to the Bengal Tiger. Many agree that you have a better chance of seeing tigers in Bardia than in Chitwan. Bardia is far less busy than Chitwan, too, due to it's more remote location.
Considering its proximity to Kathmandu, the wildlife found in Shivapuri National Park is astounding. Mammals include the Common Leopard, Clouded Leopard, Himalayan Black Bear, Jungle Cat, and Himalayan Serow, as well as around 318 different bird species.
The itinerary below serves as an illustration of the variable possibilities for a wildlife or birding holiday in Nepal. 5Drive to Lumbini
Today you'll begin the journey to Bardia by private vehicle, which would be a very, very long day to undertake in one go, so we suggest breaking up the journey with an overnight in Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. The alternative would be to fly back to Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu, then fly to Nepalgunj the following morning, and then transfer to Bardia.

Drive to Lumbini
