We have shown the itinerary on the basis of a complete holiday purely for illustrative purposes. Naturally as tailor-made Nepal holiday specialists we would be happy to discuss additional options, whether it be other activities, more/less sightseeing, alternative/upgraded accommodation etc dependent upon your interests, preferences and time available. We even tailor-make a suggested 'what to pack' list for you based upon your ultimately chosen Nepal tailor-made holiday too.
Day 1 - Arrive Kathmandu
Arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you'll be met and receive a private transfer for the short distance into central Kathmandu and to the "KGH" Hotel in the heart of the Thamel district. You'll be given a briefing on your forthcoming adventure, and in the evening can take dinner at your leisure in one of the many choices of cafes & restaurants in Kathmandu, although the open air courtyard cafe of the KGH Hotel is as good as anywhere,
Day 2 - Trisuli River Rafting 1
After breakfast you'll travel by private vehicle down to the Trisuli River Valley and to Baireni, the put in point for the rafting. You'll be given a safety briefing, wetsuits, safety helmets and life jackets. Your main baggage will travel ahead by vehicle to tonights camp, so anything you want with you for today will go into dry bags on the raft. Once you're ready it's onto the river and after around an hour of paddling and a bit of whitewater (Grade 3) you'll stop at scenic river bank location for a picnic lunch. Back onto the water and there's some more whitewater before the river becomes a calmer paddle and to the permanent riverside camp known as Big Fig. Enjoy a BBQ dinner al fresco on the stony beach by a camp fire.
Accommodation: Big Fig Trisuli River Camp
Day 3 - Trisuli Rafting 2 & transfer to Pokhara
Take breakfast at camp, no 'crack of dawn' start either and take to the river mid-mroning to continue your journey down stream. You'll probably get a bit wet today as there's some grade 4 rapids to provide thrills along the way. After 3-4 hours rafting you'll reach Kuringhat and where the rafting ends. But, first a leisurely picnic lunch and then it's back to the road and after around 3 hours of driving you reach Pokhara, Nepals premier resort. Your hotel is right by the lake, but not in the middle of 'Lake Side', which has now become a rather busy area, but in a more peaceful location and next to paddy fields where water buffalo still are used instead of tractors. With so many choices for eating out in Pokhara, we thought you'd prefer to eat out tonight at a place of your choosing.
Day 4 - Transfer to the Kali Gandaki River & Raft
It's a mornings drive to Beni, the put in point for the awesome journey through the Kali Gandaki Valley. Whilst everything is made ready for the next few days you can take it easy and enjoy a picnic. Everything you want with you for the next few days rafting will be carried in the raft and stored in dry bags. What you don't need you can leave at the hotel in Pokhara. In the afternoon you'll raft for around 4 hours encountering rapids such as 'big brother', 'evil one' and 'wake up call'. The rapids are up to grade 4. Plenty of big bouncy waves along the way and lots of fun too. Late afternoon camp will be set up in a spectacular location in a gorge surrounded by steep cliffs. You'll enjoy a tasty dinner at camp and can dream about tomorrows rapids later.
Accommodation: Wild Kali Gandaki River Camp 1
Day 5 - Kali Gandaki River Rafting
It's nice to wake up to tea served in your tent and then enjoy an al fresco breakfast on the shores of the Kali Gandaki. It's excitement almost from the word go with around two and a half hours of classic roller coaster waves and the grade 3+ 'double bend'. By now you'll be ready for a picnic lunch and there's more to follow over the course of the next 2-3 hours with the likes of 'black rock/ and 'avon wrap' to negotiate. These can be grade 3+ and Grade4+ at times. Again you'll be camping wild by the river.
Accommodation: Wild Kali Gandaki River Camp 2
Day 6 - More rafting & transfer to Pokhara
It's far from over as once again you take to the white waters of the mighty Kali Gandaki and encounter exhilarating rapids and the Grade 4+ grand finale of 'Seti Beni" and ' Human for Lunch'. Reaching the confluence with the Andhi Khola (the take out point) once everything is packed down and after a picnic lunch you'll be transferred back to Pokhara and should arrive early evening.
Day 7 - Fly to Kathmandu
A private transfer to Pokhara Airport for the 25min flight to Kathmandu. Upon arrival you'll be tranferred to your hotel with the remainder of the day at your leisure. You could of course readily extend this holiday with some extra days in Pokhara for some 'r&r' or add activities like tandem paragliding, or trying out the worlds longest, fastest zip wire, or perhaps a trek in the Annapurnas. Returning to Kathmandu some mountain biking or even a spot of sighsteeing can be readily added.
Day 8 - Depart Nepal
A private transfer will take you to the airport for your return international flight.
Of course there's no reason to depart today, your Nepal holiday can be readily tailor-made.
