Annapurna Luxury Lodge Trek

We have shown the itinerary on the basis of a complete holiday purely for illustrative purposes. Naturally as tailor-made Nepal holiday specialists we would be happy to discuss additional options, whether it be other activities, more/less sightseeing, alternative/upgraded accommodation etc dependent upon your interests, preferences and time available. We even tailor-make a suggested 'what to pack' list for you based upon your ultimately chosen Nepal tailor-made holiday too.

Day 1 - Arrive Kathmandu

Arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you'll be met and receive a private transfer for the short distance into central Kathmandu and to the Hotel Shanker in the quiet Lazimpat area of Kathmandu. The hotel is set in its own grounds and features an outdoor pool area, but is still just a 15min stroll from the touristy Thamel district. You'll be given a briefing on your forthcoming adventure and in the evening can take dinner at your leisure in one of the many choices of cafes & restaurants in Kathmandu.

Accommodation: Hotel Shanker, Kathmandu

Day 2 - Fly to Pokhara

A private transfer to the airport for the 25min flight to sub-tropical Pokhara. Enjoy the rest of today at your leisure in Nepal's laid-back premier resort. Perhaps take a boat out onto the lake, chill out in one of the many peaceful lakeside cafes, or enjoy a dip in the hotel pool. With so many choices for eating out in Pokhara you're free to choose as you wish.

Accommodation: Waterfront Hotel, Pokhara

Meals: B

Day 3 - A short trek to Birethanti

A private transfer of around an hour takes you out of Pokhara and to the start of your horseshoe circuit trek of the delightful Modi Khola Valley. Today is rather easy and a nice way to 'warm up' as you follow the ridge line through forest to then begin to descend down towards the Modi Khola River. Reaching the Sanctuary Lodge (1060m) you can explore the nearby village of Birethanti in the afternoon before perhaps enjoying a sundowner in the gardens and enjoy the sub-tropical climate. Walking time approx. 3 hrs with around 350m descent.

Accommodation: Sanctuary Comfort Lodge, nr. Birethanti

Meals: BLD

Day 4 - Trek to Ghandruk

A longer walk today, but it can still be enjoyed at an unhurried pace. A well established trail follows the course of the Modi Khola upstream and begins to rise away up the hill side passing tiny villages and terraced paddy fields along the way. The gradient increases as you then ascend via a stone-stepped trail that rises continually upwards and to Ghandruk, the principal settlement of the Annapurna region. For sure, as you climb upwards take rests along the way and enjoy the views across the valley to Macchapuchare (Fishtail). Reaching the Himalaya Lodge at Ghandruk (1940m) you can now relax and soak up the views of snow covered peaks. Walking time approx. 5-6hrs with around 890m ascent.

Accommodation: Himalaya Comfort Lodge, Ghandruk

Meals: BLD

Day 5 - Trek to Majhgaun

A case of down, across and up today as you firstly descend to the Modi Khola River on a stone-stepped trail and cross the river by way of a small bridge. At first it's a relatively steep, but not particularly sustained climb up to Landruk. But, there's no reason to rush. There are tiny homesteads and villages along the way to enjoy too as you rise and look across to the side of the valley. From whence you came, the lofty peaks of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli come into view. Reaching Landruk the gradient begins to decrease as you contour the hillside on a trail that is now more undulant in nature as you continue to Mahjgaun (1450m).Walking time approx. 5hrs with around 700m descent and 500m ascent.

Accommodation: Gurung Comfort Lodge, Mahjgaun

Meals: BLD

Day 6 - Trek to Dhampus

Beautiful walking today as the trail rises up through dense forests of rhododendron, with occasional breaks to afford breathtaking views across to the Annapurnas. You'll walk by several small villages and cross over the Deorali Pass and then begin a steady descent to Dhampus (1500m). Walking time approx 4hrs, with around 600m ascent and 500m descent. Enjoy a refreshing Chai here and with great Himalayan views

Accommodation: Basanta Comfort Lodge, Dhampus

Meals: BLD

Day 7 - To Pokhara

Leaving the lodge behind at first the trail is virtually level as you follow the ridge line through woods and farmland, to then begin to lose height rapidly as the trail descends through the forests. Emerging by the road a private vehicle will be waiting to drive you the short distance back to Pokhara. Walking time approx.2 hrs. You should arrive back in Pokhara in time to take a leisurely lunch, relax for the rest of the day and reflect back upon your short trek in the Annapurna region.

Accommodation: Waterfront Hotel, Pokhara

Meals: B

Day 8 - Fly to Kathmandu

A private transfer to Pokhara Airport for your flight to Kathmandu. You'll be met upon arrival and receive a private vehicle transfer to your downtown hotel, with the remainder of the day at your leisure.

Accommodation: Hotel Shanker, Kathmandu

Meals: B

Day 9 - Depart Nepal

A private transfer will take you to the airport for your return international flight.

Of course there's no reason to depart today, your Nepal holiday can be readily tailor-made.
