We have shown the itinerary on the basis of a complete holiday purely for illustrative purposes. Naturally as tailor-made Nepal holiday specialists we would be happy to discuss additional options, whether it be other activities, more/less sightseeing, alternative/upgraded accommodation etc dependent upon your interests, preferences and time available. We even tailor-make a suggested 'what to pack' list for you based upon your ultimately chosen Nepal tailor-made holiday too.
Day 1 - Arrive Kathmandu
Arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you'll be met and receive a private transfer for the short distance into central Kathmandu and to the "KGH" Hotel in the heart of the Thamel district. You'll be given a briefing on your forthcoming adventure, and in the evening can take dinner at your leisure in one of the many choices of cafes & restaurants in Kathmandu, although the open air courtyard cafe of the KGH Hotel is as good as anywhere,
Day 2 - Trisuli River Rafting 1
After breakfast you'll travel by private vehicle down to the Trisuli River Valley and to Baireni, the put in point for the rafting. You'll be given a safety briefing, wetsuits, safety helmets and life jackets. Your main baggage will travel ahead by vehicle to tonight's camp, so anything you want with you for today will go into dry bags on the raft. Once you're ready it's onto the river and after around an hour of paddling and a bit of whitewater (Grade 3) you'll stop at scenic river bank location for a picnic lunch. Back onto the water and there's some more whitewater before the river becomes a calmer paddle and to the permanent riverside camp known as Big Fig. Enjoy a BBQ dinner al fresco on the stony beach and a camp fire.
Accommodation: Big Fig Trisuli River Camp
Day 3 - Trisuli Rafting 2 & transfer to Pokhara
Take breakfast at camp, no 'crack of dawn' start either and take to the river mid-morning to continue your journey down stream. You'll probably get a bit wet today as there are some grade 4 rapids to provide thrills along the way. After 3-4 hours rafting you'll reach Kuringhat and where the rafting ends. But, first a leisurely picnic lunch and then it's back to the road and after around 3 hours of driving you reach Pokhara, Nepals premier resort. Your hotel is right by the lake, but not in the middle of 'Lake Side', which has now become a rather busy area, but in a more peaceful location and next to paddy fields where water buffalo still are used instead of tractors. With so many choices for eating out in Pokhara, we thought you'd prefer to eat out tonight at a place of your choosing.
Day 4 - Transfer to the Seti River
For the next few days you'll be paddling a distance of around 63km on the Seti River and camping wild on the shores of the river. As well as plenty of paddling on calmer waters there are sections of rapids (to grade 3) to negotiate along the way. It's around two and a half hours to the put in point at Damauli. What you need for the rafting days will go into dry bags and what you don't need you'll be reunited with later. Onto the river and most of todays paddling of around 3 hours is on flat water, but very, very beautiful as you follow the river flanked by steep sided jungle, a sight that can only be seen by raft. There is some whitewater towards the end that will give you a chance to practice for what lies ahead. You're now below 1000m, so the climate is very much sub-tropical.
Accommodation: Wild Seti River Camp 1
Day 5 - More rafting & transfer to Kathmandu
Continue to paddle downstream all morning and after around 3 hours you'll reach the point where the Seti and Trisuli Rivers join. A short distance from here the river meets the road and the end point for this mini-rafting expedition. From here you'll transfer back to Kathmandu arriving early evening. Alternatively you could extend this holiday and do a spot of wildlife watching in Chitwan. It's only an hour or so away. Or return to Pokhara for more activities, and perhaps a short trek before flying back to Kathmandu.
Day 6 - Depart Nepal
A private transfer will take you to the airport for your return international flight.
Of course there's no reason to depart today, your Nepal holiday can be readily tailor-made.
