High pass crossing to reach Upper Dolpo, Nepal
By Snow Cat Travel, Feb 16 2018 12:00PM
Inner Dolpo or Upper Dolpo is just one of those places in Nepal that even the most seasoned Himalayan trekker might just get all romantic and gushy about.
Remote, isolated and spectacular, most of us first learned about the Dolpo region of Nepal from reading The Snow Leopard by Peter Matthiessen.
Hence it's often referred to as The Snow Leopard Trek and indeed these elusive, seldoom seen big cats do call Dolpo "home" too.
With high passes in excess of 5000m to negotiate (like the one above), it's fair to say that Dolpo remains the realm of the experienced, very fit trekker still to this day.
