Unknown Bike Annapurna Circuit

The ultimate Himalayan Mountain Bike Challenge - Downhilling the Kali Gandaki Valley - Annapurna & Dhaulagiri

More like a Himalayan mountain bike expedition, this is a very serious undertaking for only the very fit, strong, experienced mountain biker and involves high altitudes. Once the preserve of the adventurous trekker, the Annapurna Circuit is nowadays also considered as an epic mountain bike adventure. In essence the journey is split into two. Uphill all the way to the top of the mighty Thorung La (5416m) and then downhill all the way to Galeshowr (approx. 1100m). Reaching the Thorung La requires some very challenging riding, as well as a fair bit of pushing/carrying and you must be prepared and able to carry your bike. From the Thorung La it's almost all rideable for the whopping 4000m+ descent. It is impossible to provide vehicle support for much of this journey and so your baggage is carried from the outset by porters until you have crossed the Thorung La and reached Muktinath. From here bags will be carried by locally chartered jeeps. This is a very committed, arduous biking challenge. Very much a 'badge of honour' to those who complete it and most certainly a journey never to be under estimated. If the idea of riding, pushing and shoving to the Thorung La is not your idea of fun, then our Kali Gandaki Attack mountain bike trip and The Mustang Raid adventure holiday both feature the main downhill section of the Annapurna Circuit.

Sleeping bags (4 season) will be required for the nights spent in trekkers lodges. We can arrange sleeping bag rental if required.

NOTE: The ride/route to Manang can be shortened/amended by using the now finished jeep road to Manang.
