A trek from Paro to Punakha via Thimpu, this short Bhutan walking holiday is a continuation of the Druk Path Trek. Beginning in Paro you’ll follow this tradtional, ancient trail that linked Paro and Thimpu for centuries until the advent of a road in the 1960’s. Reaching Thimpu you then walk across the hills above the capital over the Sinchu La to descend into a stunningly beautiful and lush, sub-tropical valley to reach Punakha, site of Bhutan’s most impressive Dzong. As this is a private Bhutan holiday, additional time for more sightseeing in Paro and Thimpu can be readily added. No visit to Bhutan is complete without making the trek to the Tigers Nest-the world famous Taktsang Monastery, which is a wonderful way of ending a wonderful on foot journey through the foothills of Bhutan.
Sleeping bags (4 season) will be required for nights spent camping
